Best places to study Arabic?
Evening gents,

Today is the day when I take shit into my own hands. Fuck my boring job, I'm writing up my notice now and leaving that place soon as.

I kind of want to roll back the pace a bit but don't want a cv gap where I'm doing nothing. So I'm considering studying a lang abroad and really I've taken it down to Russian (possibly SerboCroat) or Arabic, all pretty solid choices in terms of career utility IMO.

If I go for Russian or Serbian-Croatian, I'm set with a fair few top picks. However Arabic I'm out on a limb. I'm looking at either Morocco, Tunisia or Lebanon (from what I understand Egypt is shit for after hours and Jordan is super boring). Just wanted any input from guys who had been around the levant, any recommendations to sway me? Currently leaning to Lebanon because from what I understand it's the most fun of the lot, at least in Beirut.

I'm looking to do one of the intensive 6-8 week courses for starters.

Cheers.

Lebanon is probably gonna be the nicest one. If you befriend some guys there they should be able to get you some chicks, otherwise can be hard. Tunisia became quite democratic again, but something tells me they'll have another revolution again, tourism dropped and unemployment is higher than under Ben Ali. I have heard from friends who lived in Morocco that they had a lot of fun and that there are a lot of hookers. I don't know if it's easy to bang chicks other than hookers ..

What about Algeria? Don't know anything about that ..

Meh, muslim\arab countries are bloody sanctuaries, good in therms of money\career to work in those parts, but you sure you gonna be happy around those parts? Consider learning Mandarin or Russian instead, opens a lot of doors as well.

If you can afford it - I also think Lebanon. Levantine Arabic is the best type to learn and at least in Beirut you can get laid. It's not easy, but compared to other Arab countries it's Disneyland.
