Not yet. Maybe in the future when there's more traffic, but I don't think there's nenough active posters or active threads to make it worthwhile.

No.

Too many tabs on any site outside of academic or governmental make the user scream- screw this mess!

I loved how it was all in one simple tab here.

If you want to see a cluttered forum look at this-
http://www.happierabroad.com/forum/index.php

With that many tabs your think it was Craigslist Los Angeles.
Ps- Zolo
Have you been to any crummy small towns in America?

To really understand America realize that the majority of it is not Vegas, NY, or LA. Rual places do feed everyone and are great to be in should Nibiru hit or martial law is declared but for day to day living if civilization remains in tact they leave a lot to be desired.

Tell me on average when you combine urban with rural isn't European quality of life better than American?

I don't like it because last time nobody more or less went into the travel section, easy to miss thread responses and degrades the conversations. I think splitting the forum apart is only worth while when active threads are spilling onto the second page.

Agreed on all points. As I said, it's a trial. I'm going to put more effort into this forum from now on and I'm trying a few new things.

Better late then never...hopefully this platform can attract quality posters.
We have solid group already - however more real folks on board with solid ground experience would get the momentum going...

I dont think splitting the forum helps now but hey is just my two cents. Maybe some time ago would have helped, but now.. I dont know.
I dont see many interesting posters these days and the one who were good at it, they are gone, like Deb himself.
The good thing is that you Zolo are back.
The bad thing, we need more quality of those posting. We lost Deb whom I appreciated it. I know he talked too much but I think we could have done a lot more to keep him. We had a wave of spammers and trolls and the discussion in our screen was a bit troubled with Greece prostitution and the likes.
Anyway, it is for a trial, mind you so no harm done.

We'll see how it goes.

RE: Do you guys think spliting the forum was a good idea?
Yes, it's probably a good idea, because otherwise you get a lot of chat going on in threads which are more informational. Keep the banter and semi-trolling in an off topic section. The risk is now you have to deal with all these political topics and manosphere stuff. Mostly it just serves to create division between people,

Touching on the 'trolling', I'd advise you not to copy the attitude of RVF. Give people a bit of leeway here. People have to walk on eggshells around the RVF to not 'offend' some of the very easily offended guys over there. Also, don't do the permanent ban thing. Do like they do at BB Misc forun. A week for smaller stuff (unfounded personal attacks, poor language), a month for more serious stuff (personal attacks on you or mods, consistent trolling etc). Permanent bans should be reserved for inexcusable repeated behavior.

You'll have a much better forum this way as you grow. RVF only gets away with it because they have a long standing user base already. They'd never grow from your size if they had that ban policy. Lets also please not get so hysterical about p4p and race as they are over there.

For example, you can't mention p4p even as a comparison, which lets people post datasheets where they are clearly trolling p4p venues but claiming to score. Better to just say, I was in a p4p place, blah blah. Who cares about it anyway, I've done p4p and so have most people I know. You don't become a monger place, just because reality is introduced and discussed (no discussion of prices or monger topics of course).

I have to agree with this. there are just not enough posts. Typically things get spit or table of contents built when it gets difficult to find thing. We're not there yet.
