Venezuela, paradise?
http://www.vice.com/es/read/vive-en-vene...e=vicetwes

For those who don't know spanish a guy from venezeula wrote on article on how ridiculous economy works there ( i am familiar bc in my country, argentina, something similar is happening but not on that scale)

Government says that usd is worth x amount of bolivares(local money) and restricts ppl from buying dollars to save their banking reserves

ppl that wants usd has to go to the black market, apparently the breach is now so high that the official rate is 1000 times lower than the "real" rate

so... this guy went ahead and drove fancy cars, did top notch hookers blow and weed, stayed in 5 stars hotels and wine and dined in venezuelas top restaurants for just 100 euros.

see you there soon fellas

I lived there, if you can change money it's very cheap, not to live there. You need a good contact for changing money, not easy. It's also extremely unsafe to travel or live, very corrupt and many basic things like food, water and electricity are scarse. The women are very hot and nature stunning, amazing beaches.

I heard someone say the safety situation more or less ruined it for them and they couldn't wait to escape the city. I imagine it would be quite exhausting having to take so much precautions all the time.

RE: Venezuela, paradise?
Examples:

- You hear at least two shootings around your area a week.
- You'll get used to see dead bodies on the floor.
- You get immune to gunshots so you don't even go duck anymore sometimes, sick.
- Traffic is very crazy and they're very aggressive, a lot of cocaine and liquor and guns behind the wheel. Never open your mouth.
- Everything is a process. For example: registering at school: first wait in line since early morning in hot sun til noon to inscribe. Then get a paper to go to a specific bank to pay there. Then first go to your own bank to take out money, wait hours, with some luck there is money. The day after you go to their bank to pay, again waiting hours. The day after you go to school to do another line of a few hours to finally show the receipt to inscribe yourself. It's like that with everything.
- Sometimes no flour, meat, milk for months or toilet paper.
- Brain drain: not much skilled people around.
- Heavy corruption.
- Cops and militairs and poor people hate you cos your white and they're brainwashed by the communist party.
- Lots of black outs and water shortages.
- Macho culture.

I still loved living there, though, hot wife, girls were super into me and all the time seducing me, many nice people, amazing sea food, amazing beaches, nice climate, people treated me like a rock star cos I am somewhat blonde with grey-blue eyes.

There's this national park La Gran Sabana with table mountains and tons of waterfalls, also the Angel Falls are there, it's magnificent, I went camping there twice for a week or so. Even brought my parents.

Isla Margarita I suppose, although probably local girls are used to foreigners and know how to get money, gifts, etc from them. There are ofcourse inland girls who go party there which probably you could score.

I think there is some less dangerous places in Venezuela where they are a real paradise but may be only some persons know them and they don't like to revelar those places. I don't mean prostitutes but real girlfriend experiences.

This is the same article in English

http://www.vice.com/read/i-lived-like-a-...-euros-876

For my warning about the place, listen to Mark's podcast where he interviewed me and I tell my story about cops planting drugs on me, threatening to beat me and put me in Venezuelan jail .... and how I successfully handled it
