I'm currently in Meknes, and just come from Chefchouan (Hashish mecca).
I've also visited Fez. I'm extremely impressed with every city I've visited. They've alll been absolutely beautiful, with winding medina and souqs. I feel like I've stepped back in time.

That said, nightlife is non-existent and limited to quiet hotel bars. This is not a place to party at all.

If you're looking for women, I suggest going to more liberal cities like Tangiers or Marrakesh, and pipelining online.

Tomorrow I'm making my way out to Erg Chebbi. We're taking a day's camel journey in the dessert to visit a Berber camp. Going to get high as a kite and soak up the stars.

Yeah I got my Moroccan flag in Marrakesh by pipe-lining online.

Even then it wasn't easy. Need to setup airbnb accommodation in a place that will let you bring women back which is not easy to find at all.

Difficultly level is very high

Hotels won't let you bring girls back and most airbnb accommodation wont either because its technically illegal

Even if you get an airbnb where you have the whole place to yourself the is a high chance that there will be a security guard on the door to the apartment building who might stop you

Also, women there are scared of being seen going back to your place with you because they know its illegal too

There is actually even more satisfaction from getting the rare and difficult to get flags.

I even have an Iranian flag. Turkish flag too which, as anyone who has been to turkey will tell you, is super hard to get.

Turkish dudes in bars in clubs will physically prevent you from even talking to Turkish women even if they dont know the woman in question and even if she is telling him to go away and leave you alone.

If anyone manages to get a Moroccan flag, Iranian flag or Turkish flag they have my total respect especially if they manage to do it in the actual country itself.

I had that impression of Tukrey going in. That is why I decided to make my trip to Istanbul purely sight-seeing.

I decided to couchsurf for a week. One person responded back saying her roommate would be out of town for a couple days and it'd be okay if I stayed there for a week.

We ended up banging on the first night. He roommate came back later in the week, much cuter than the girl I just banged, but she didn't speak a word of English. We got drunk, played truth or dare, friended her on FB, used google translate to message her, and ended the night banging her. That was probably one of my more impressive bangs seeing as we couldn't speak to each other

It was super awkward for the next two days. I kind of feel like I cheated getting those flags that way. I didn't interact with too many people outside of my couchsurfers and their friends, but I was surprised at how many decent looking chicks there were there.

I would have thought that if two people are even mildly attracted to each other and put together like that, the natural outcome would be bangage in most cases. But I've read online in a few places that it's a horrible way to get some. I mean, come the fuck on. You've got a captive audience. You've got alcohol. Basic Psychology 101 covers this. But I've never couchsurfed so that's why I'm asking what real life results are.

How are the people? I've heard bad stories from friends. Also, the city guides on wikitravel such as for Marrakech are full of warnings about scams, touts, people trying to rip you off and raise prices etc.

That was only the 3rd time I've couchsurfed, so I can't say for sure. In Russia and Romania I used CS to meet up with people, but I also used airbnb in Ukraine and hosted a Ukrainian chick once that also turned into a bang on the first night. From listening to people around the couchsurfing community, it seems like they deem as more of "sex surfing". When I look for a host, I usually don't go for the chick that has 10, 20, or even 50 positive responses. They seem to be in for the purpose of travel. I'll reach out to the chick with no references. It's hit or miss

Even here in Marrakesh, like JJ alludes to, logistics suck. A lot of riads will give you your own keys, but that's in old town (the cool part). Most of the nightlife is in the new town (which sucks). Beers are expensive too ($4-5 for a 25cl bottle), and most nightlife charge $15-25 for admission.

In sum, Morocco sucks for picking up and boozing. Online game is the ONLY way to go.

@nescio: Yes, Moroccans buzz around tourists like flies on shit. It wasn't so bad in the rest of the country, but Marrakesh is terrible. It's Egypt-level. Like everywhere though, you'll be fine with a little common sense. As a general rule, you can't trust ANY Moroccan unless they're getting paid in some way. Even when asking for directions a lot of assholes will expect a few dirhams.

Old town is not the "cool part". Don't even think about staying anywhere else other than new town if you go to Marrakesh.

I know tons of places in new town that are free to get into and often have free live music or belly dancing type shows.

Mama Africa has free live music every night. Even Leo Di Caprio used to hang out here. Not a place to find girls though unless you like shoring.

Oddly enough the McDonalds around the corner from there is a great place to meet regular girls due to the fact that most "good" girls in Morocco don't drink and wont go to bars and clubs.

Never saw that McDonalds closed even in the early hours and it always had a crowd.

For a classier crowd in terms of nightlife that should NOT involve paying covers go to lotus club, extrablatt cafe and the bar above extrablatt as well as the one next door.

Got my Moroccan flag in my private airbnb apartment opposite extrablatt cafe. The casino where all the poker action happens is just over the road too.

You are in ground zero if you stay in that part of town in terms of your chances of getting laid.

Special mention goes to the bar in Hotel Nassim down the road too for a location to take a girl for a drink (not to actually meet one though).

Cheap drinks, one of the few places in the country that actually has draft beer, totally quiet and you can sit by the pool.

The "how to get laid in Morocco " guide basically involves

1) Getting a place in new town Marrakesh that you have to yourself and that doesn't have a guard that will stop you bringing girls back

Getting the Moroccan flag in Morocco itself is incredibly difficult but it's really rewarding when you can pull it off because the sexual repression that exists in the country is so intense that, once you understand the culture, you will understand that ....

1) Almost all Moroccan women can't stand Moroccan guys which, if you can tap into it puts you at a huge advantage as a foreigner. Seriously. Ask Moroccan women what they think of Moroccan guys, let them rant for 10 mins (which they will) and then say "so you prefer foreign guys then?"

2) There is a huge amount of sexually frustrated Moroccan women there just waiting for you but you have to know how to approach them in the right way (clue: it's not gonna be in bars and clubs)

Final tip is on cutting down on your expenses in terms of boozing.

There are very few supermarkets that you can use to stock up on booze and do most of your drinking at your place.

I used carrefour on Mohammed V or Menara Mall. With a well stocked fridge and an apartment in new town you can go out, party, nip over the road to your place for a drink and then head back to the clubs and party again.

If you think this sounds like me being a cheap bastard then you have no clue as to how much money you are going to be wasting on super over-priced booze in the clubs and bars if you DON'T do this.

Seriously the amount of money I saved by doing this more than paid for the price difference in between staying in a shitty cheap dorm in a hostel and my super nice private airbnb apartment in new town.
