Rick not really qualified to give advice like that. Better off speaking to a tax expert.

I think the easiest way is just to obtain residency in a good country for tax purposes. Paraguay only requires $5000 bank deposit and has no tax on foreign income your physical presence within the country isn't important either from what I'v read. Really I'm doubtful you'd ever need to prove other residency unless you came into some serious money.

I likely will see a specialist when it comes to where to invest and residency. First course of action is to actually get money.

RE: Is anyone here a nomad capitalist?
Ok so my first few months of dipping my toe in investing in ETFs are behind me

Results for the month of June? An increase in value of my portfolio of just over 17% which is ridiculous.

Most of my ETFs are in overseas equities (S+P 500 for example) and mostly US bonds. The US T bonds were the biggest winners for me but even the UK gilts were up which is a surprise.

Most of my holdings are in cash though which has become devalued against most other currencies so it's not all sunshine and roses.

Not sure what to invest in next other than picking up some fire damage priced ETFs (UK property and banking).

Rare opportunity here

http://www.investors.com/news/these-thre...he-sp-500/

As soon as a company enters the s+p 500 their value has a good chance to go up sharply

Why? Because all of the ETFs out there that mirror the S+P 500 HAVE to buy them. If they did not then they would not be mirroring the S+P any more so they have no choice.

These 3 enter the S+P next monday - the 20th March so you still have time if you want to get in.

AMD for me is the pick of the bunch.

Already up 451.98% compared to one year ago so all the usual caveats about it being frothy apply but getting back into the s+p 500 is massive for them.

Take a look at what happened last time they managed it.

I just started investing in ETFs for degiro.

Also looking to buy property next year. There are some great yields and deal in Colombia right now. Very foreigner friendly too.

RE: Is anyone here a nomad capitalist?
im just starting to look into stuff like this, i really have no idea what i am doing but my initial plan after a few hours of research is:

buy silver and some gold plus bonds right now while the prices on them are low

when the market crashes the gold and silver should go up, sell them and then by stocks, wait a few years for market to go back up then sell the stocks and buy gold/silver when the time is right

this seems quite simple, am i overlooking anything?

JJ or anyone else, found any other good podcasts on this subject?  ones where you can be a noob and learn as you keep listening to new ones if you listen to their old stuff?

here is another link i was given to help noobs like myself: https://www.bogleheads.org/wiki/Three-fund_portfolio

last post i was talking about buying gold/silver then flipping it to stocks.... the etf's should also go down when the market crashes right? so that would be a good time to buy them?

how do you go about picking which etf to buy? or are they all pretty similar since they have so many different funds in each?

(i am a noob and dont know what i am talking about for hte most part, particularly not 'the lingo' but think i kinda understand)

Yeah, that you should be mostly in equities right now.

When interest rates go up, bond yields go down

Pretty much everyone is expecting 3 rate hikes in 2017. We just saw the first one happen yesterday.

RE: Is anyone here a nomad capitalist?
i spent a week listening to a few hours of investing podcasts a day, my conclusion is that nobody who has a podcast either knows what they are talking about or cares to give actual info

it is the same when listening to so many other forms of podcasts like internet marketing, making money online or whatever

so after all of my research it seems the best thing to do is just by VNG (the whole market) and not waste your time looking for better spots because the info you get about a better spot very well may be misinformation anyways
