Travel/life plans for rest of year
After 5 months at home I'm close to breaking point. No fucking way I can tolerate another 5-6 months of this shit. Have saved fuck all at the moment as well.

Decided to go to Istanbul to get laser eye surgery as I get my driving lessons and test for my birthday if I do. Will go to Budapest for a few days then Amsterdam for some good old debauchery.

My social life is completely dead. Saving money here is also beyond miserable so thinking of heading to New Zealand for a working holiday.

What's your plans/ideas for the rest of 2016?

I didn't know Istanbul was a place you'd go get LASIK...

Is it safe haha?

I've been meaning to get it done too, but I've put it off because it'd interfere with my training/martial arts.

As for plans, I'm tied down in the states for summer. Will gtfo after that though...My social life is pretty bleak myself. I've come to realize I don't relate well to most Americans.

I really get the feeling that America/the West is past, and Asia is the future. You just don't have that dynamism, or energy here in the U.S. Most millennials are complete bums too. The ones with their shit together are hustling online in Asia.

LASIK is what miltary are recommended as well as contact sport athletes. Cost £3200 here, in Istanbul it costs £920.

Living at home with parent and working for family while being a good way to save is just no way to live for a 24 year old. I want adventure, I want to socialise and make great friends and I want pussy.

If I move into nearest city after tax and living expenses id be saving like a quarter of what im capable of. In New Zealand I could probably save around 2/3rds of what I can here but I'd actually have a life.

Dilemma now is do I want to spend sometime in SEA before I go over and if so for how long.

Isn't an NZ working holiday just picking up sheep shit in farms and that sort of thing? Honestly Rick the scenery will be awesome but you will be in megabumfuck 100 miles away from anything resembling civilisation and probably picking fruits. UK sucks yeah but keep going with it man, you need to start proving to yourself that you can set and hit goals. Then you can start planning a life path.

As for me I'm leaving Thailand in a few weeks. I've had a great time here but honestly this country is doing my head in. The political situation here (plus the huge amount of racism against us whiteys) is just starting to get on my nerves.

I'll be working in the UK for three months to build up my finances again, maybe a week or two in the Caucasus to scratch my travel itch, and then moving to Serbia for 6-12 months studying. After that... um...

You can have a good setup usually with working hostels in fruitpicking. You'll normally be in or near a small town and you will work and party with the same people over several months. Good way to save and make some memories and friends.

The visa is for 2 years I think I will go for it and I have a year to use it. I think I will go for it. Can let my money get below £2200 and flights cost about £400 although they only seemed to check Asians in Oz and checked me right on in with no thought.

I already am in megabumfuckville in Scotland. Really don't have much to lose.

^I know the procedure is perfectly safe, I just don't know if I'd be comfortable getting it done in Turkey. Frankly, I wouldn't buy so much as a kebab from A Turk lol.

In the U.S, they generally recommend PRK over LASIK for military/fighters. The reason being is LASIK leaves a permanent flap which can open up if you were to say take a punch to the eye. PRK does require more recovery time though. In either case, you won't be sparring for months (which is why I've held off).

I'd go for the working holiday in Kiwi-land, rick. It's a beautiful place. I could see myself retiring there one day perhaps. And it's a convenient springboard for Asian adventures.

Quelle surprise.

Ya'll are a bunch of bespectacled nerdy fuckers who can't even drive a car. If my memory serves me right Eddie gets his mum to pick him up from the airport too.

So you can't get this on the NHS I assume because your eyes aren't in such a bad shape. I'd definitely make sure the place is accredited. Uh, this is a business for them so ask for some recommendation, I'm sure other british people have had it done there, just ask them, if it's a professional successful clinic they will have a contact list for you to email or call someone english speaking who has done it there.

That said, you gotta be out of your mind to let some Turkman moustache cut into yer face.

I've driven since I was 15, bud.

And I've always worn contacts. They're just annoying is all..

(FYI--there is a positive correlation between myopia and high IQs. There's a nerd fact for ya haha.)

I don't wear glasses or contacts I just can't read licence plates from far away without squinting and they won't let you take lessons and there's no way I'm going to wear glasses so I'm getting the surgery. Looks like I will be getting PRK then.

Probably will do just lasik if I'm a candidate for it. Been reading upon it basically if it came loose it's not particularly hard to fix which is rare as hell either way and for it to become torn would likely involve such damage to the eyeball that it would be the least of your concerns.

^Yea, getting punched directly in the eye is quite unlikely...at least in boxing/muay thai.

With mma though, the open gloves lead to lots of "accidental" eye poking. That would kinda suck.

Working holidays and all that shit .. what about getting a real diploma instead of reading some e-books and a good (expat) contract and start putting your first savings into real estate instead (followed by using that income in new investments until you get the ball rolling) of all these nonsens bullshit about making money through blogs, poker, drop shipping and all that crap which appear here all the time ... it's like half of the people here are just living in a fantasy world believing in easy money and in some internet guru's instead of studying and making a few smart decisions and end up being poor and living as a backpacker.

Don't get me wrong .. I'd be up for volunteer work or something like working on a farm for a while, but it would be only to get some skills or a kind of meditation. Also, I'm not rich or saving much, but that's because I'm doing expensive safaris, drive nice cars, staying in lodges and nice hotels and going to spa's and nice restaurants and shit.

I will do the working holiday I figure and do some fighting out in Asia and maybe take a long trip in the Americas. If nothing falls into place by 28 it's the Royal Marines. If that fails I guess I could do something less legal heard interesting stories about Venezuela. Most importantly I want to do something interesting.
