Changing my mind on Chiang Mai
Ok so I am in CM

First came to this place back in 2010 when I was on the round the world trip writing and researching Sex 3.0 and was limited for time.

In all honesty I got bored here after 2 days and I think I left after 3 days

Anyway, I kept hearing the city get mentioned and recommended as this primo hub for digital nomads and how the nightlife is good (not my experience) etc etc

So I figured I would check it and give it a look with fresh eyes and actually explore the city and nightlife more and check out the co-working spaces and view some serviced condo / apts.

I gotta say I changed my mind on this place. Would seriously consider living here.

Especially if the Thai elections go ahead next year as promised and an elected government comes in and reverses some of the early nightlife closing down laws (of course there are shady after hours places here anyway, not like everything closes at midnight but it would be nicer if it went back to the way it was before).

So yeah, have changed my mind on Chiang Mai.

Next stops for me in my search for a new spot to live - Ho Chi Minh City (via BKK), Hue, Hoi An and Danang.

Have been to all of those cities before but not since 1995 - yup 21 years ago - curious to see how things have changed.

Perhaps i am wrong but usually i get the feeling.
When you see a group of chinese people usually they are not digital nomads.
When you see couple in their 50s 60s 70s its hard to be digital nomads.
Also when i see young couples i understand it by the mood of the female.
You can say if her boyfriend dragged her in Thailand and she is jealous and she wants to go back asap Tongue
Lots of such couples.
Also i met a lot of people with my wife as we were looking for company and we didnt meet a single one digital nomad.
All of them were tourists.Perhaps we went in the wrong places. We only met 2-3 people in girly bars who were living there long term but they werent digital nomads.
They were pensioners.
