Making money with matched betting
Alright, just wanted to share the love and tell about how I've been making a few extra €€€ with this method.
Check out the intro vid at oddsmonkey.com it explains the hustle. They have two free tutorials where they show you how make around 30-40 in half an hour.

It's basically exploiting bonuses and using differences to odds to profit by backing and laying (betting against your original bet).

It's very UK centric, takes a bit of time o learn, and it won't make you a millionaire, but I've managed to make a decent amount off it in the last month. I estimate you're making €25 a hour from it.

Worth checking out Wink

Disclaimer: When I first posted this I had a disclaimer saying I wasn't an affiliate or making any referral money of them, but then I thought, "Hey, do they even have an affiliate program?". They did, so now I'm signed up. So yeah, now I'm an affiliate. Fuck it.

From a quick browse from various sources on the net it's legit and legal. Only problem is it works so well bookmakers are using software to track you. I will likely go through your affliate but make sure to do what this guy recommends to prevent bookkeepers software from reporting back to them. You'll only pop up if you start taking a solid amount of value from them.

Bookmakers will be very quick to ban/limit your account once they catch on to you. Some are more lenient than others but this isn't something you can make money from long term unless you have an infinite number of names/addresses to start accounts with. From people I know who tried this, most of them made £4-5k before they were banned by enough books to make it no longer worth their while.

Extra 4-5 grand would come in handy as hell though.

There's some good advice in that link.  I don't do matched betting but have still had a number of accounts banned/limited in the last 18 months.  Now I've started doing random weekly £10 football accas on accounts that I value, and withdrawing my money in smaller amounts.

Yeah they don't withhold your money either right? They just stop you from getting access to promotions or so I heard.

Apparently pinnacle sports are ok with match betting and winners in general and they have just reopened again for uk customers or are in the process of doing so.

They don't withhold it but it's still frustrating when you get banned. Especially when it's by a book that regularly has juicy lines.

Hicks were your friends who got banned actively trying to hide their accounts?

This guys post has things you basically must do or you will get banned after a couple of months and a few grand. Some of them are pretty smart you basically want it near impossible to distinguish you from a recreational gambler.

http://matchedbettingbible.co.uk/mug-bets-2/

Apparently bigger sites are a lot more relaxed on match bettors (as long as you dont abuse the free offers) due to fact their bottom line profit and sheer number of users doesn't justify the cost of hiring a team. It's the smaller sites that are the most trigger happy.

One of my friends who was banned said that he was betting too much on a horse promotion they had running and not betting on enough other things. So I guess the lesson there is to not hammer a promotion when it's making you good money but keep your bets mixed up. That was on bet365.

If you actually do mug betting properly I honestly don't know why they'd want to ban you even if they knew you were a match bettor.

You bet 100 with your bookie on your team to win, you bet 100 on your team to lose on bet fair. They make 100, costs you like a fiver. Going to put a lot of research into this. Got to get ratio of mug bets right. I hear 1-3.

This combined with online poker, live poker and fighting should give me a real chance at actually growing my bank account instead of letting it dwindle away on my travels.

Thanks for that link. The bastards had that snare installed on me!

The only bookmaker that banned me was BetVictor. (lost around €20 bonus money).

Another way to ensure you don't get banned is purposely choose loser (high odds) and extract all the cash via the betting exchange.

RE: Making money with matched betting
I believe it is possible to do this with you and the bookie making money. I mean if you keep track of your profit/loss with a site you could potentially give them 100s while getting 100s back on betfair getting charged a couple of pounds a shot. If you win on the bookie site give it back to them in the casino.

If their making a profit from you why would they possibly want to stop your free promotions. Iv noticed a couple of blogs and advice reddit that completely neglect this point. They make the mug bets and keep them if they win. Bottom line you need to be a profitable punter for them in the long run.

This probably explains why some of them have no problem with bet matching. Has me wondering why this issue is t brought up more though.

Also Iv heard rumours that certain sites will give you a lot more free offers if you regularly "lose" to them and have a reasonable sum of money in your account (3 figures). Any problem you guys can point to with this theory? I figure it's worth a shot.

@zolo

That's probably the most solid way of doing it zolo. If however your team wins on the bookies site might be worth keeping note of just how in the red or green you are with them.
