Dash coin: a good investment?
I just made 30% on my money in one day, exchanging some of my bitcoin for dash. From what I've researching it looks like a true competitor as it's payments are faster.

Expecting a crash soon, this rally is insane.

RE: Dash coin: a good investment?
Seems like you have moved some dough from one speculative crypto to another one that is 100x more speculative.

The fact that it went up 30% in one day should tell you that you ain't investing at this point, you are gambling.

Ain't got a problem with that personally as long as you (or anyone else) knows that this is exactly what you are doing.

Gambling ain't a problem as long as you can afford to lose it.

Title of this thread is not accurate however. Dash ain't an investment it's a gamble.

Not only is it a gamble and NOT an investment - the amount of risk and volatility you are exposing yourself - it's the financial equivalent of climbing on top of an intercity high speed train and screaming 'woooo !!! let's go !!!!'

Could be a lotta fun. Could end horribly.

Good luck.

Mark it's not a hedge either. It's a gamble.

Hedging and gambling are totally opposites.

An example of a hedge is buying super defensive stuff (like gold) even though you don't think they will go up unless your equities crash in price.

Like I said, no a big deal as long as we are talking about the kind of cash that represents a fraction of one percent of your net worth.

If you want to hedge your bets and yet STILL buy equities in the hope that they go up then you need to learn how to do call options.

I'm putting another lump into ETFs. Current ones aren't performing well. Any recommendations?

RE: Dash coin: a good investment?
I don't really like to recommend specific ETFs or stocks.

For example even though I stand by what I said about AMD and what I think will happen to them now they are coming back into the S + P 500 I would stop short of calling flat out recommending that people should buy.

I just point of the opportunity and what is going on with them and let people make up their own mind.

The reason that I think that recommending specific ETFs or stocks (or even bitcoin) is a bad idea is that - when people tend to do so - it means you have probably done well from them which means they have gone up a lot lately which means they are frothy.

If you recommend them and people take your advice and they buy and they go up people tend to shrug their shoulders and say that this is what they expected because of what you said.

If they go down they are pissed off at YOU because YOU 'lost them money' so it's a no win.

I can tell you about ETFs that look good to me if you want then I suggest you do your own analysis and make your own damn mind up.

CSP1, ISF for the main UK and US indices.

CSP1 has an amazing 0.07% expense ratio which I love.

SWDA for world stock market (for the diversification).

SXLF for healthcare.

If you want exposure to SE Asian tech then IKOR and ITWN but their expense ratio is higher than I like.

All of the following ETFs are expensive now but it does not mean you should not look at them

Tread carefully and if you want to hedge with a bonds ETF take a look at SGIL.

ETH was a good investment. It was $5 last month, now it's at $50?

Lots of people made some good coin, but it'll probably crash in the next few days.

RE: Dash coin: a good investment?
I sunk $500 into ETH. Fuckin annoying thing is it's been hovering between $45-$50 now for the past week or so. It was supposed to be $100 by now.

Anyone know what the forecast for ETH is? Expected to moon again or drop?

I'm also looking at other alt coins. Which ones are hot right now and expected to moon? LEPEN coin?

Bought at 40 Sold it at 50, put it into bitcoin when Bitcoin was below 1000. Bitcoin is 1350+ now. Similar gains.

Ether is taking off.

That's what's happening.

Whether it's too expensive and too frothy now or not ... ahhh there's the rub
